Toddlers are such amazing little people, with developing personalities and endless energy. If you’re looking for things to do in the Tampa Florida area, check these out. Bonus points, it may even be educational!
Toes in the water… Butt in the sand. Who doesn’t love the smell of salty sea air? The Tampa Bay area is surrounded by many beach options to choose from. Spend your day building sand-castles, splashing in the waves, and chasing the gulls. Whether you go to Clearwater Beach, Honeymoon Island, Fred Howard Beach, or St. Pete Beach; you can’t go wrong with a trip to the ocean. There’s really nothing better than listening to the sound of the waves crashing along the shore while watching your little ones play in the sand.
Your kids are the stars of their own shows during their visit to Glazer Children’s Museum. Help them explore the world around them while they try on many identities. Will they help a pet in the Vet Clinic? Leap to stardom in the Twinkle Stars Theater? Imaginative play is vital to your experience. Best for children ages 10 and younger, your little one is sure to enjoy their day of play!
Animals! Need I say more? What toddler doesn’t love seeing wildlife right before their eyes? Throw in some fun facts that you can read around the park and voila! Educational visit with a LOT of fun. There are over 1,300 different animals to see and learn about. You and your littles can get up close and personal at certain exhibits and also feed a few snacks to some hungry giraffes.
Just a skip outside of Tampa in Clearwater there’s an indoor gym for kids of all neurotypes. With swings, crash mats, tunnels, indoor zipline, rock climbing walls, trampolines, and more; there is plenty available to keep those toddlers busy! Whether you choose open play or classes, the fun you have watching your toddlers expend that energy is worth every penny.
Located at the Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach, the Manatee Viewing Center acts as a sanctuary for these big, beautiful creatures. Take your toddlers to something truly unique and view manatees in their natural habitat. You’ll enjoy these majestic sea-cows along with an array of plant life, flowers, and butterflies. I hope you’re not afraid of heights, the center also provides a 50-foot wildlife observation tower!
